Chapter Seventeen
Mekvar
This was impossible. We’d been in this forsaken pleasure house for an hour searching every conceivable place, hoping the scientist would present himself to us. No one even slightly resembled a Dragorian, and there must have been every other type of alien in the damned galaxy here. There was nothing but males fucking in every room, everywhere I looked.
It also didn’t help what I was feeling towards Beatrice. The Rushing was taking over once more. All I thought about was all the ways Beatrice and I could be together. And it wasn’t easy with the number of males who decided they wanted her too. More than one took an interest in Beatrice until I growled at them and they slinked away.
When a Regreathen male stared at Beatrice’s breasts through her dress and would not stop licking his lips, I was ready to tear his throat out. I dragged her out of that room so fast that I was surprised I didn’t throw her over my shoulder and leave the house entirely.
But I had to put my feelings for my mate aside and think of my people. As unnatural as that felt.
So, we went from room to room, searching for the scientist, and all I could think of was how badly I wanted Beatrice out of here, no longer exposed to the lecherous gazes of other males.
We entered a room filled with a mass orgy. Three males were taking a particularly noisy female, one behind her, one in her mouth, and the other at her cunt. I couldn’t imagine ever sharing a female so enthusiastically with two other males. Beatrice, however, was arrested at the sight of them, and I had to tug her away from the foursome before we could move on.
Afterwards, we reached a darkened hallway, and Beatrice halted. Sweat poured from her brow, and she leaned heavily against the wall.
“Beatrice? Are you well?”
“Mekvar,” She gasped, and gripped her head in her hands. “I don’t think I can continue anymore.”
“Then we won’t. We will return to our tent and cease searching.” I thought I would feel torn saying the words, feel the familiar flash of frustration at having to give up the mission. But the feeling didn’t come. Instead I felt relief. My need to protect Beatrice was surpassing my need to save my people.
And that was a terrifying prospect.
Regardless of my conflicted thoughts, I gathered Beatrice into my arms and held her to me. She moaned and arched in my arms, thrashing. She brushed her breasts against me, and I cursed myself. I couldn’t stop the erection that thickened in my trousers at the contact with her.
I had been trying so hard to remain focused, to ignore the incredible pull of the Rushing, to block out the floral scent of her, to not think of the feel of sinking into her cunt, and now it was all that consumed my mind.
“Beatrice, what is the matter?” My jaw tightened as I tried to think past her writhing body against mine.
